Attend a service any time. You are welcome at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church.
Anyone who worships at HCFM on a regular basis is considered to be member of this congregation whether or not they have officially joined the church. While membership is not required to participate in activities or be considered a part of this parish family, all people are strongly encouraged to make their membership official by transferring membership from another church or through baptism, confirmation or reception.
Transfer of Membership:
If you have been a member of an Episcopal church or any other denomination, your membership can be transferred to HCFM by contacting Suzy Jayroe at gro.m1455292902fssor1455292902cyloh1455292902@eory1455292902ajs1455292902 or by calling the church office.
The basic requirement for “membership” in any Episcopal Church is baptism. The Episcopal Church recognizes baptism that occurs in all other Christian denominations. Written notification of baptism from a different Christian church is sufficient. People desiring to be baptized at HCFM may contact one of the clergy members or call the church office.
“Confirmed” indicates that a person has made a mature and public affirmation of their baptismal vows and undergone laying on of hands by an Episcopal Bishop in a congregational worship service. When someone has been confirmed in another Episcopal congregation, a letter of membership can be transferred from the previous congregation. When someone has been confirmed by a Bishop in the Catholic, Lutheran or Eastern Orthodox Church, that person can be received by an Episcopal Bishop in a service. This service is held annually.
Confirmation and Inquirers Classes are for people who wish to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church, for any confirmed Episcopalian who wishes to learn the basics of faith, and for anyone who simply wants to explore what we believe. The classes explore the basics of Christianity (God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, history of the Church, etc.) as well as the way the Episcopal Church lives out that basic faith through worship according to The Book of Common Prayer, Bible Study, and service to others. Confirmation classes are scheduled annually, normally in the spring.
If you would like more information on becoming a member of Holy Cross Faith Memorial or for information on baptism, confirmation or reception please contact the church office at 843-237-3459.
