The ECW will meet in the parish house after the 10:30 service on June 9^th.  This is an important meeting as we will determine how to distribute the funds raised at the 2012 Alleluia! Bazaar.  Anyone who has suggestions regarding organizations who might benefit from an ECW donation, please contact Annette Billings.

JOIN US August 5-9 “On the Farm – Growing with God” from 9-12 for Vacation Bible School.  This exciting five day program promises to be truly a time of growing for the children of this parish and community grades PreK-5th.  Also it will be an opportunity for volunteers to actively welcome young families to our campus.  In order to open the week to as many participants as want to come, we NEED YOU.  please volunteer to teach, to prepare and serve snacks, to set up and clean up, to help with music, to help with crafts, to help with Bible stories and other activities.  If you have no particular interest but just want to help where needed, that’s great.  Please contact Kathy Thompson – *protected email* or Jai Quigley – *protected email* or suzy………..to be a big or a little part of this important ministry of HCFM.

The new Seacoast Artists Gallery of South Carolina is now open at 3032 Nevers Street, Myrtle Beach in The Market Common.  Featuring over 70 local exhibiting artists (including HCFM’s very own John Miller), the gallery will open from noon until the center closes.  The Seacoast Artists Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit visual arts organization dedicated to promoting and advancing excellence in the visual arts through teaching, exhibits, workshops and special events. It is focused on developing and nurturing young artists-to-be through training programs and sponsorship of art scholarships.  The Seacoast Artists Guild is all about encouraging creativity in the community. May Crossroads

On June 2nd our new Bishop, The Right Reverend Charles vonRosenberg, will be visiting Holy Cross Faith Memorial.  If there are any new members of HCFM that were confirmed in another denomination who would like to be received into The Episcopal Church, this is the perfect opportunity.  Please contact the church office if you would like to be received when the Bishop comes.

The scheduling of nursery attendants is underway.  If you, or someone you know, is interested in volunteering to help in the nursery on Sunday mornings, please contact Candi Boyd at 241-2539 or via e-mail at *protected email*.   Its a fun time, and a wonderful experience getting to know our little ones!

Acolytes are a very important part of our worship here at Holy Cross Faith Memorial. Acolytes lead the procession; take part in the reading of the Gospel as well as many other aspects of worship and liturgy. Their presence at the Lord’s Table is especially important as they assist the clergy in preparing the table for Holy Eucharist.  They play special roles in other celebrations such as Baptisms and Confirmations as well as special occasions such as the annual visit of the Bishops of the Diocese. The new Acolyte Guild will consist of an acolyte Mom or Dad to help the younger members get ready for the service, a person to do the scheduling and of course the acolytes. Adults and youth are welcome and encouraged to be an acolyte. No experience is necessary, as the clergy will provide any training needed.  Please contact the church office if you are interested.

The Holy Cross Episcopal Church office will have new hours beginning in May.  Beginning with the first week in May, the church office hours will be Monday – Thursday from 9am to 4pm and Friday from 10am to 2pm.  Should you have a pastoral care emergency outside of the regular office hours please contact a member of the clergy at home.

There are lots and lots of old photos floating around and they would make wonderful scrapbooks.  Anyone interested in helping put together HCFM scrapbooks, please contact the church office.
